Bocas del Toro Aliza Elbert and Justin Gould The province of Bocas del Toro is right up there at the top of Panama’s list of hot tourism spots. The head of the province is the town of Bocas del Toro which is located on Isla Colon in the Caribbean Ocean up near Costa Rica. The small waterfront town is as eclectic as they come, acting as a meeting point for travelers from all over the world. The food and nightlife scene in Bocas is extremely diverse and in some regards quite sophisticated: as prices and styles can vary greatly. Being surrounded by water allows for some of the country’s best aquatic tours and marine wildlife. Teeming rainforests can be a terrific chance to see some of the rarest birds in the world and white sand beaches are what we have come to associate with paradise. Tours to outlying island and mangrove forests are a must and the province’s plethora of hotels, ranging from high to low end, provide the perfect welcome home from a day of exploration.
