New Years resolutions are in! We have finally bitten the metaphorical bullet and purchased memberships to the most rockin’ gym around, Sport Tec, and as I like to call it, “Gym of the future.”

Sport Tec, located on Avenida Brasil in Panama City is a classy, modern gym. It has large surrounding windows and is open, airy and not too cold or too stuffy. On the upstairs level there are loads of treadmills, elliptical, bikes, most with private TVs, and an entire weight room downstairs. Between 8:30 and 11:00 am it is rarely crowded, and the cardio machines I want are always available. Conveniently there is a weight room for women (with pink machines) on the upstairs level with the cardio. As an added bonus it looks in on the dance and yoga room…watch the salsa-aerobics instructor with the incredibly fast feet. Yoga class is mostly filled with middle aged ladies, but that’s about my stretching level anyway these days, so I fit in delightfully. Plus, with its secret code and hand scanning technology it’s like Alcatraz to get inside, making me feel like I’m finally VIP.
