Sometimes Building In Panama Is Worth It

Casita Margarita In Pedasi, Panama
Most people have heard the horror stories about trying to construct a home in Panama. It is generally true that the process is full of headaches. From contractors not meeting their promises to long delays for various reasons, these are the issues that just about anyone building in Panama has to contend with.
As Casey Halloran has written before, he experienced just about every problem imaginable while building his boutique hotel in Pedasi, Panama. Casey, along with his semi-retired parents Jack and Sue managed to turn a humble single family home in to a beautiful boutique hotel.
Casita Margarita has been open for more than a month now, but the building process took more than twice the estimated time and double the money. Fortunately for the Halloran family, the setbacks seem to have paid off. The hotel has received rave reviews from guests and neighbors alike.
The Hallorans are pioneers in Pedasi, building the first mid-range hotel in the area, the first hotel in Pedasi with hot water, and the hotel has wireless Internet and satellite TV to boot!
In the video below you can see Casita Margarita’s transformation from a Panamanian home in to the nicest boutique hotel in the area.

Jeez Becky, you make it sound like I did EVERYTHING. You forgot that my parents put up a bunch of cash too and that even old Jimbo Procter pitched in time, expertise and money. There’s plenty I would have done differently, but from guest response so far, seems to have been worth it.
