Panama Consumer Confidence Down in April

Panama’s Consumer Confidence Down?
According to an online article published by local news outlet La Prensa, the Panama Consumer Confidence Index sunk by 6.4 points from February to March, to the figure 95.8, which is below the critical 100 benchmark that signifies good levels of Consumer Confidence. Some experts say this is one of several signs of growing economic concerns in Panama.
This change in sentiment by the buying public is partly the result of increasing prices for common goods, which rose 8.4% over last year.
This figure is the lowest rating since The GFK Marketing Group began the study in 2006.
