Helicopter Crashes in Panama City on Thursday, May 29th
Cailey and I were in Wendy’s (guilty) when everyone stopped, turned up the TV and watched with rapt attention the scary helicopter crash footage in Panama City, yesterday.
The helicopter, an old model from the 60s, crashed into a store, broke in half from the impact and set the building on fire.
Police chief Gen. Jose Alejandro Bernales was one of two senior security personnel from Chile traveling in the helicopter when it slammed into a store. The Chileans were in Panama for an anti-terrorism conference, according to Panama City Mayor Juan Carlos Navarro.
Gen Jose Alejandro Bernales, three Chilean police officials, two spouses and five Panamanians all died when the aircraft hit.
