Dorian’s: a Bargain Shopper’s Paradise
I’m not going to lie. I love a finding deal. I love digging trough ratty racks at Goodwill in order to find that perfect vintage blazer or costume pearls. I don’t think it’s about the money…it’s more about the fact that I feel like I am getting away with a secret and beating the fashion system.
I know that humanity feels the same way. In college I worked at Banana Republic, and although the rest of the expensive sweater sets and and suit “martin fit” trousers remained quite tidy and pristine by 9pm, the entire sale rack was pulled apart/on the floor/off the hangers like hungry wolves devoured it, or the White Witch in Narnia was looking for something…those women WERE white, um, witches and although I resented them and their greediness, I find myself pulling apart sales racks in the same way.
Dorian’s, in Panama City’s Albrook Mall is a haven sale-rack of slashed prices, cheap clothes and designer deals. Cailey and I happened upon it looking for some new sandals. Hidden among the usual cheap clothing (the key is that they are hidden…a scavenger loves a search) are designer items and fashion gold.
Here are some of the things we found
1. Fabulous hoop earrings $1.99
2. A Free People Shirt $2.99 (Retails in U.S.A at $30.00)
3. Betsey Johnson heels $19.99 (Retails in U.S.A at $200.00)
Also hilarious fake Prada and Chanel bags that I might go back for, fun pretty flats, some as cheap at $3.99 and loads of jeans and T-shirts all at inexpensive prices.
