For the past couple of weekends Cailey and I rehashed our youth, spending hours walking the Multiplaza Mall in Punta Pacifica looking at things we couldn’t afford to buy. Apparently this Multiplaza is a big improvement over Costa Rica’s, with bigger walkways, high-end restaurants, and more shops and cafes.

Greenhouse Restaurant is literally shaped like a Greenhouse, which is fun and pretty, but ironically it is a freezer box of AC in there. Plants would grow icicles it is so cold. Ok, that is my only complaint. I love Greenhouse!

Living in El Cangrejo definitely has its benefits, one of which is the abundance of good restaurants. Harder to find, however, are breakfast joints. When I first moved here my favorite place to go on a weekend was NY Bagel. It’s always interesting to see the crowd of weird expats hanging out and mingling. Recently, [...]

NY Bagel Cafe has a funky, cozy atmosphere and is mostly populated with ex pats on Saturday morning, lounging on the comfy couches and drinking coffee from over-sized mugs.
The nostalgia for the states in me loves going for a weekend bagel, but there are some serious flaws at this so-called bagel café.

I moved to Casco Viejo because I had heard it was dangerous. Dangerous things enticed a boy from Jersey like myself who spent the better part of his childhood in what amounted to an geek bubble. Schoolwork and the arts, such as piano lessons and art camp, were all I was exposed to until the [...]

Leonardo’s Pizza is quite possibly the best meal deal in Panama.
The restaurant, if you could call it that, is quite sterile in appearance. Many of the walls are adorned with caricatures of celebrities: my favorite being the one with Madonna and Ronaldinho the soccer star. Upon looking at the photo one afternoon while waiting for [...]

The leafy porch garden at Restaurante Bella Roma in El Cangrejo is pleasant to sit in and has an overall nice atmosphere and presentation. This, along with the waiters in vests and bow-ties, tricked us into thinking that the food would be as charming.

New Years resolutions are in! We have finally bitten the metaphorical bullet and purchased memberships to the most rockin’ gym around, Sport Tec, and as I like to call it, “Gym of the future.”

Today I lunched at Pano´s Kretan House, the best Greek food in Panama, or so I now believe. Pano´s has a bright and lively atmosphere. It’s a two story building that feels almost cafeteria-like, but classy (yes, this is possible). On its clean white walls are hung large photographs of Greece, creating an appealing escapist [...]

8:00— Casco Viejo is like a city from a different time, with its romantic, Spanish and French influenced buildings. Recently it has become a trendy neighborhood, partly because of the major restorations that are taking place, and now new stylish bars, restaurants, and cafes are springing up. Although patrolled by the friendly Policía de Turismo, [...]
