Panama’s Party Buses Are Unlike Anything You’ll Find At Home
The very purpose goes against everything North Americans have been taught about safety. You are not supposed to drink alcohol while in a motor vehicle; you are not supposed to be jumping around a moving vehicle; it is frowned upon to be obnoxious while leaning out [...]

Panama City’s Seafood Market Offers Up The Catch of The Day
I have a confession. I’ve lived in Panama for 3 years and I just visited the Mercado de Mariscos (seafood market) in Panama City for the first time. I suppose because I have lived near the ocean in Panama’s interior for quite a while, I [...]

The Tucan Country Club in Panama
Aside from the occasional downpour, Panama is the perfect place to take up golfing. A few years ago there wasn’t much in the way of golf courses in Panama, but that is quickly changing. Golf pros and amateurs now have a number of options throughout the country.

The Capuchin Monkey Is Native To Panama
I have been in Panama for a few years now and have to admit, I didn’t have much of an interest in Summit Zoo and Botanical Gardens just outside of Panama City. When I heard a new exhibit had opened that featured jaguars, I figured maybe it was finally time to [...]

There Are Plenty of Nearly Deserted Beaches in the Azuero Peninsula
Things are really changing at the bottom of the Azuero peninsula. When I visited the southern tip about 2 years ago there was virtually nothing for tourists. All of the hotels past the Playa Venao area were basically surf camps and not really family accommodations.

Don’t End Up In Jail Like Paris!
I think most of us have it in us. We want to live the high life. Pretend we were fed on a silver spoon our whole lives and are trust fund babies. Maybe some of us are. Most of us probably aren’t. In Panama you can live the dream. [...]

I’m not going to lie. I love a finding deal. I love digging trough ratty racks at Goodwill in order to find that perfect vintage blazer or costume pearls. I don’t think it’s about the money…it’s more about the fact that I feel like I am getting away with a secret and beating the fashion system.

I JUST Realized This Says “Greatest Hits”
Walking around Panama’s gigantic superstore “Machetazo” one can find anything from an antique sewing machine to an aisle of masks and costumes, a full grocery store to a trophy and gun section. I was fortunate stumble upon a few random racks of CD’s that appeared sadly discarded, [...]

Whilst in Bocas del Toro, Cailey and I heard that Mondo Taitu Hostel was the place to be on Tuesday (80s night!) So we ate dinner and waltzed in around 10. This was a mistake as everyone was already wasted and sweaty, wearing multicolored wigs from the “costume trunk” (shiver) and dancing around merrily in [...]
