Best Women’s Boutique in Panama

Fashion Icons, Panama

A month ago, I met Peggy Ortiz at the first Styletuesday – a networking event I have started to organize every other week in Panama City. I didn’t have the chance to talk to her that first time. Luckily, two weeks ago she came to our second Styletuesday and I had the chance to chat with her a little more.

That was how I found out what she does for a living. For more than 10 years, Peggy has run a clothing store in Centro Commercial Florida. “What a coincidence,” I said to her. “I write articles about fashion for various Panama websites.”

A week later I set up an appointment at NEXT, her boutique. She just moved into a new space in the same location and she wanted everything perfect before I came by. Very professional. Peggy buys her collections in New York City and Miami. I really like her taste, colorful but not too much so, feminine, and sexy. Everything is very tasteful. I was happy to see she doesn’t pick synthetic fabrics. Silk and cotton are the main materials I saw.

Peggy focus mainly on tops and dresses. I definitely want a few of her silk tops to wear with my smart jeans. She sells a large range of cocktail dresses and night dresses, very well-sewn, for very reasonable prices The price range is from $180 up to $250 in beautiful colors such as fuchsia, pink, light blue, green and of course black. The tops go from $20 to $180. She also sells the magazines LUCKY and STYLE in English which I think are the best for giving good tips to women about how to match your clothes.

Her family always had stores, and now Peggy and her sister have their own boutique. It’s definitely a place I recommend. The staff are knowledgeable and nice. And there are two very comfortable chairs waiting for you gentlemen. BRAVO to this young entrepreneur who now competes with the big malls (which are growing everywhere like mushrooms in Panama) and she is still doing very well!
