“Artemania” Art Shop in Pedasi

Artemania Art Shop- Pedasi, Panama
A pleasant French woman named Caroline who has lived in Panama for years opened up a funky art shop in Pedasi nearly a year ago.
Caroline collects art from all over Panama and has a surprisingly high turn over. Each time I have visited her store there is always something new to buy! The shop always sells molas, both framed and unframed and great jewelry, some of which she makes. The jewelry is very earthy, including earrings made of tagua (which looks like coconut, but is actually a fruit itself), and dyed fish scales. Traditional Panamanian hats and hand made clothing are also available. This visit, hand-made masks from Chitre lined one wall. Caroline always has a great display of paintings from various Panamanian artists and her prices are unbeatable. I highly recommend a visit to Artemania while in Pedasi, it is located in the main square, you can’t miss it.
