5 Best and Worst Names for Panama Real Estate Projects

Destiny Tower by Procasa
With the real estate boom in full force in Panama, it would seem that the creativity of developers is being pushed to the limits. With hundreds of condo and land projects popping up all over the country, arriving at an original name has these real estate markers scouring their version of the “big book of baby names” in attempt to conceive something remotely unique.
Here are my votes for best and worst names for Panama real estate projects.
WORST NAMES:
5. Yoo — if this ’super designer’ Philippe Starck is so darn smart, why does the project bearing his name sound like the punchline in some Abbott and Costello routine?
Bud: “This project, Yoo. Heard of it?”
Lou: “What project?”
Bud: “Yoo.”
Lou: “What about me?”
4. Destiny — straight out of an infomercial.
3. Trump Ocean Club – not sure I’d want to be the promoter for any project with that name on it right now. “You’re fired!”
2. Revolution Tower – makes me think I’m living in Cuba.
1. Keops Tower — does The Mummy live there?
BEST NAMES:
5. Santa Maria — reeks of class, and a big money ad campaign rams that down your throat…with a martini chaser.
4. Embassy Club — says to your friends, “I live near the Embassy…oh, and it’s like an exclusive club thing.”
3. Ocean One — simple, elegant and an address you’d like to repeat.
2. Megapolis — if the Transformers lived somewhere, it’d probably be Megapolis.
1. Park Place — ok, so this isn’t great…but I always liked buying it in Monopoly.
I feel for these developers. It can’t be easy to conceive original names while another fifty developer are also doing the same. Maybe there’s a business idea in there?
