Tamarindo Restaurants
Frutas Tropicales is best the place for a traditional casado in Tamarindo! It sits right next to the Economy Rent-a-Car office, and while your meal will be appetizing, don’t expect the service to match up—you’re on Tico time now, remember.
Nogui’s Sunset Lounge has great breakfast, lunch, and dinner right on the beach in the Tamarindo “circle”. The Lounge features bocas and drinks on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights for…what else? The sunset. It’s also a popular place with locals. Meals include thin-crust veggie pizza, American-style breakfasts, giant chicken sandwiches and seafood. Prices: $5-$20.
For breakfast, a place called Gil’s has the best breakfast burrito in town! For lunch and dinner, the same restaurant turns into Gecko’s, a fabulous mix of seafood, steak, pasta, salads, delicious appetizers and desserts. Hospitality is great here and the small bar is nice for a drink or two — bocas are on the house! Phone: 506-653-0334
The Dragonfly Restaurant and Bar offers an eclectic menu with steaks, fish, sushi and vegetarian options. It’s located 100 meters behind the Hotel Pasatiempo.
Happy Days is the place to go for American flare! They’ve got some of the best hamburgers and fries you’ll find on the beach.
