Jaco Tours

Located about 10 miles north of Jaco is the Carara Biological Reserve, famous worldwide as the home to the Scarlet Macaw. There are several miles of trails, so hiking clothes and repellent are recommended. Admission is only $8 while organized tours can be upwards of $35 per person through Explorica Tours. If you’ve never tried kayaking, you’ve got to hit Kayak Jacó. They offer a variety of tours to different areas. Prices are reasonable (from $45 per person and upwards) but the experience is out of this world. Phone: 2643-1233.
