There is laundry service, a spa, a beautiful swimming pool, and a restaurant. The hotel also has handicap facilities, maid service, a gym and a Jacuzzi, 24-hour Internet connection and more. There are many activities to choose from, especially if you are a nature’s lover. Bird watching is indeed very popular in the Turrialba/Orosi area. You may spend the day horseback riding, visit the magnificent Lankaster Gardens or the ruins of Ujarras.
White Water rafting can be organized from the hotel. The Rio Reventazon will give you the thrill you are seeking with 10 miles of class 3 rapids. The Turrialba Volcano has recently been in the news due to increased activity after many years of being dormant. The Irazu Volcano is not far away; it is slightly bigger than Turrialba and has maintained a certain amount of activity for the last few decades. Both volcanoes are awesome to explore. If you like rain, then check out Tapanti Park, the wettest region of the country, with precipitation of over 6.5 meters per year! It is home to over 45 mammal species, 28 reptile species and at least to 260 species of birds!
Rates vary according to season between $151 for a single Standard room in the low season to $256 for the presidential room, and $169 for a single Standard room to $281 for the Presidential suite during the peak season. Extra persons pay $30 each.

- In the valley, nested between the two huge volcanoes Irazu and Turrialba, lies the property of the Volcan Turrialba Lodge. Only 5 kms away from the crater of Turrialba, in one of the most abundant and exuberant regions of Costa Rica that is still pristine and virtually unexplored, it is truly an amazing and unique location for a hotel. Because of its altitude, the whole area enjoys a variety of flora and fauna, ranging from the tropical rain forest and the rain forest to the paramo of the volcanoes.
The friendly and professional staff of the Lodge will give you personalized service that you will never forget. The hotel has a total of 22 rooms, each with a private bath, a fire stove, just like some little mountain retreat. It is ideally located to do tours and explore the volcano Turrialba, one of which is the famous Zocalo tour. This expedition, a must for bird watchers, takes place in the early hours of the morning or sometimes late in the afternoon. The sunset as viewed in the foliage of the forest is simply magical. Over 200 species of birds can be observed in their natural habitat, including the resplendent Quetzal. The tour takes approximately 3 hours and is really well recommended. Take hiking shoes, and warm waterproof clothing with you, as well as some repellent. Always better be safe than sorry! You may hike or go horseback riding, depending on your preferences. The Martillo tour takes you along the path where an ancient lava river once flowed, and one of the horseback tours will show you an old path that used to be the one and only road joining the Central Valley to Guapiles. Mountain Bike riding tours are also plentiful in the region.
