San Jose Districts

The term San Jose aka Chepe is often used in reference to many neighborhoods in and around the Costa Rica capital. While there is a uniform tico-ness over all, some of the districts are quite distinct. If you ask someone living here they will take two seconds to tell you "San Pedro" is for college students and artsy types, Barrio Amon is the historic district, Escazu and Santa Ana are once-quite neighborhoods to the South West that are becoming more ritzy, with the highest real estate prices in the country.
