Hotel Structure When was the hotel built? 1999

How many rooms do you have? 20

Types of Rooms and how many of each? All 20 are the same-duplexes. They are building 4 new rooms with wheelchair access.

Layout of Beds? 2 double beds

Hair dryers/shower only/A/C and television in all rooms?

General location (close to beach, in town or far away from town, etc.)? This is the only hotel we work with that is located closer to the town of La Fortuna than all the others which are located on the road going up to the volcano on the eastern and northern side. It is a 10-15 minute walk to town and for those who want some town action would be a good choice. It is abouit a 20 minute drive to the volcano.

Hotel Services and Facilities

They are currently making ready a gift shop next to reception which will also have internet services available. It will be wheelchair accessible. There is a very nice pool located next to the restaurant with a lot of seating and lounge chairs around it. There is also a children’s pool. Between the pool and the restaurant is sort of a recreational area with pool table and a snack bar.

What facilities are available to guests? The hotel has an extremely helpful receptionist (Lupe)who will help with tours, will draw you maps and will call tour operators and spa facilities to make special requests. You can also have the hotel do your laundry for you. I think the turnaround time is 2 hours.

Restaurant:

Where is your restaurant chef from (training, etc.)? The chef is Tico.

What meals do you serve (do they have breakfast. lunch and dinner menus) and general prices? Breakfast is included with your room. You can also have lunch and dinner but must give prior notice of an hour to 45 minutes and must make your choice at that time. The food is pretty basic and the menu typical Tico .

Restaurant schedule and dress code (if applicable)? Breakfast is served between 7am and 9am. Lunch is served all day. Dinner is served from 6:39pm to 7pm. Certainly no dress code. The restaurant is outside and is in the former stable area for horses but it works very nicely.

Is breakfast included in the room price? Yes, it is.

What is your policy on kids? They welcome kids and as stated above have a special children’s pool.

What aspect sets you apart from other hotels?

It’s tranquility. Even when full, the grounds are very big and there is a very peaceful atmosphere. The hotel is located on a finca. The grounds are beautiful, loaded with flowers, trees and birds. The hotel is located on the southern side of the volcano and you have an excellent view of the volcano from many different spots on the grounds. Overall atmosphere very peaceful and quiet!

General Comments on Hotel:

This is not a fancy hotel. It is very basic but exceptionally clean and the grounds are immaculate. The customer service was absolutely excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone with the understanding that they are not getting anything fancy or modern but it is clean, friendly and affordable.
