The Aguila de Osa Lodge was built in 1992 and has 13 luxurious screened-in rooms at various heights on a hillside overlooking where the mouth of a river empties out into the Pacific Ocean in Drake Bay. Powerful ceiling fans and screen walls help to circulate the fresh ocean air making up for lack of air conditioning (for the most part) and keeping the hotel eco-friendly.
Beach access from the hotel takes you over a hanging bridge and down a 10-minute jungle path to your own secluded area with white sands and great snorkeling. Food is included in your stay, and meals and appetizers are served family style, often incorporating the day's catch from aspiring sport fishermen and other fresh produce.
The hotel offers boat transportation to Drake Bay and a plethora of tours including fishing, diving, snorkeling, Corcovado park, beach, bicycles, horseback riding, night tour, whale and dolphin interaction tour, laundry, On-site massage services. Brad the owner is highly involved in conservation activities and in the community and all of the staff are locals from the area.
