Adventure Inn Visit: July 20, 2006
General location: 5 minutes from SJO 2 casinos nearby, near Waterland, going to build a shopping center in front of the building sometime in the future
Rooms: 34 in total: 3 suites with a shared balcony, mini fridge, Jacuzzi (nothing nice, just a tub with jets), more dressers than standard rooms, 2 doubles or you can request a king Standard rooms: 2 double beds, but you can request a king, very spacious, clean 2 rooms have 3 doubles instead of 2- these rooms can fit up to 6 The general feel of the rooms was clean, simple, and very spacious 1st floor and 2nd floor facing the street are smoking rooms (weird, b/c those hallways reeked of smoke, but we checked out an actual vacated smoking room, and there was no smell), you can also have a pet in four of these rooms ($5/pet), handicap rooms on the first floor (4 rooms only) There is a lounge on the second floor with free internet access, and right next to this, a room with some gym equipment. Some of the rooms can get wireless access.
Amenities: Air conditioning in all rooms, safety box, cable tv, shower (Jacuzzi tubs in suites), phone, baby facilities can be requested
Facilities: Laundry service, gym is just a room next to the internet lounge with some circuit equipment inside- nothing fancy Parking lot, a new Jacuzzi inside with a Mayan waterfall theme that lights up at night and the water is hot- very nice addition to the hotel The hotel doesn’t have a pool, but offers free admission to Waterland which is nearby: pools, slides, go carts, ATV’s, horses, butterfly farm. Client can either get shuttled there if their van is available or the hotel can call a taxi for like a $2 ride
Restaurant: Managed by an American guy Food is international- I had the filet mignon which was surprisingly, and extremely good. My only complaint was that they used canned mushrooms. It also came with veggies and mashed potatoes which were good. The prices are between $15- 20. Open until 10pm with no dress code There is a bar in the same vicinity- it’s a nice little area and they plan to get a pool table and ping pong table next year. There’s a 2 for 1 Happy Hour Mon- Fri. from 5-7pm. Typical breakfast is included in the price from 6 – 10am. Lunch begins around 12pm and then the restaurant is just basically open until it closes at 10pm. There is a children’s menu available. Customers can also order room service at no additional charge from 9am-10pm.
Additional stuff: They plan to hire a massage therapist soon to provide in room services to clients at a cost. Extra guests (aka- hookers) are $20/person/night Reception is open 24 hours and although check in is at 2pm and check out is at 12pm they are very flexible and if they don’t need the room, the client can stay until 3pm or check out and leave baggage with the reception All kids welcome!
Contact people: Reservations, client services, and front desk: Tatiyana Morun General manager: Katya
General comments: Not that I knew this hotel before, but it seems they have been trying to keep the hotel up to CRV standards and make a lot of changes from the way it used to be managed. Cleanliness is very important to them, as well as being flexible for the clients. The quality is simple, but sufficient. The only thing I didn’t like was the smell of smoke in the hallway- it smelled like a cheap, dirty motel 6 or something…not that I know what that smells like……. I think if we keep our clients away from that area (unless they are smokers), it’s a good spot for a one night, cheap option, airport thing.
