Villa Lora (Ocotal’s best villa)
The Villa Lora is one of the Ocotal Villas. Let me start by saying that Steve Poston is extremely hospitable and is very concerned with the satisfactions of his guests. The house manager and other attendants were really nice and the food was incredible. I was expecting to be hungry, because I prefer to graze all day and eat smaller meals. There was an abundance of food for all 14 of us, and drinks were well made and always flowing.
We got to visit Steve’s other properties and Villa Lora will surely be the best. It is scheduled to be completed by Thanksgiving 2006. It will have 7 air conditioned bedrooms that sleep 20 people total. Four BR are Kings, and 3 BR have 2 Queens in each. The design is very spacious and airy. The main living room has a 30 foot ceiling and balconies on both sides that lead to upstairs bedrooms and outdoor terraces.
The decor will fortunately be different from the other Poston’s homes. The home will have modern appliances and classier furniture. A large TV in the living room with DVD will probably never be used with the huge pool outside. This infinity pool is deep and is surrounded by a large patio extended from the living room. The views are absolutely stunning. The down side of this amazing view is that you need a car to get around easily here. The home does offer a shuttle service that will drive to and from the beach and the town of Coco. It runs from 7 to 7.
The actual beach is not very impressive, and there are only a few coves with nice sand and no rocks. The water though is a bright blue and very clear. Most people will probably hang out at the house for the majority of their time if they aren’t on tours.
This is a great Costa Rica villa, perfect for large groups who want all inclusive treatment but in the comfort of a private villa.
