A couple of weekends ago I went up to La Fortuna (the town closest to Arenal Volcano) to go canyoneering. What a crazy fun weekend!

We arrived late morning and checked into a beautiful hotel with awesome views of the Volcano called Hotel La Selva. The clouds were covering the top of the volcano, but soon after we arrived the sky cleared and we were graced with the view.

We then jumped in the bus and headed to one of the canyons close to the Volcano to participate in a canyoneering tour. It was incredible to rappel down beautiful waterfalls and really be deep within the rainforest. Afterwards we rested our weary bones in the hotel’s hot-tub and prepared for our class III-IV rafting trip the next day. It was fantastic and a great way to spend the weekend.
