Costa Rica News – Costa Rica Airport Terminal Evacuated
Bomb sniffing dogs and bomb experts were brought in and the area was evacuated as a security measure. Passengers were taken to the airport parking lot until the airport was reopened at 4pm. The bags ended up containing nothing suspicious.
The largest number of tourists travel through the International airport during the Costa Rican summer, from December to March. If you are arriving at peak hours, foreigners can expect a wait of 45 minutes to an hour to get through immigration.
Dates between Christmas through New Years are especially popular for vacationers looking to spend the holidays at the beach, meaning that there was probably a full house present to witness the bomb scare.
