aviatophobia

Costa Rica is a tiny country - about the size of West Virginia. Yet, because of its terrain and the complete lack of road infrastructure (although supposedly the tax Ticos pay on gasoline goes to fix and develop the road systems…yeah right, anyone can see that this money is either not making it to its correct destination or the administrators of the MOPT are so incompetent that they should be fired immediately - I digress) traveling to some of the remote corners of Costa Rica can be difficult (…imagine ten hours in a body-heat generated sauna - crammed in so tight that your limbs fall asleep immediately). Therefore, many people elect to take short flights to their destinations. The only problem with this is that these planes are small and going over the mountains and through clouds often cause these planes to bounce around so much that I start fearing for my life.

To sum it all up, I have developed aviatophobia because of the poorly maintained roads. I’m even reluctant on the big 747s now.
