And while you’re in the neighborhood…

Why not visit Panama???

Panama is such a unique wonderful place. The whole pace of life is just a bit slower down here giving you time to soak up the vibe and escape the daily grind. The beat of the Panamanian drum is very different and soon afterlanding you will get into the rhythm. It is more of an adventure than Costa Rica because of its stage of development. Not to say that it is dangerous at all – I just mean that Panamanian culture is farther away from US culture than Costa Rica’s is.

Panama boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in the world on both the Caribbean and Pacific sides of the country. Underneath a palm tree on one of these beaches is the perfect place to actually feel yourself unwind. Panama has
the great surfing beaches on the Pacific side that Costa Rica is so famous for, but also the picture perfect Caribbean beaches.

The capital city is also very cool. It is a very modern, hip latino city centered around the Canal, one of the marvels of the modern world. Once you actually see the Canal you will realize just what a feat it must have been to
disect an entire country in two, through the dense jungle of Panama. Speaking of dense jungle…The rainforests are spectacular and quite an adventure. The jungle made a particularly profound impression on me because I
am from AZ and grew up in the desert my whole life. They say that each tree inthe Panamanian rainforest is a forest in and of itself because of all the life that just one tree supports.

The another incredible thing about this country is the vibrancy of the indigenous culture. It is incredible to see and interact with people that have such a sense of history and tradition that is actually alive and well in the21st century. I am specifically talking about the Kuna people. They inhabit an entire province and are completely autonmous. They have there own food, dance, music, government and economic system.
