Adventurious tour in Arenal
Last weekend I did the canyoning tour of Puretrek where you rappel down waterfalls. I was so excited about this tour that I felt I had to write about it.
First we were picked up from our hotel in a minivan then it is a 20 minute to the mountains. When we arrived there was a 4 wheel drive truck waiting to get us through the mountains. This was like a 30 minute drive and after this they get us our canyoning gear. After a 15 minute hike we were standing at our first rappel looking down from 100 feet. I can’t say I was very happy at that moment but while I was hanging there it was so much fun. On this first rappel you were going down next to a waterfall but the second one you are going down basically in a waterfall so expect to get wet.
There is also a photographer coming along that is taking pictures which is great because you don’t have to bring your own and risk getting it wet. Unfortunately the pictures are very expensive 30,- Dollars and you will get a cd.
After the 5 rappels you have to hike back up for about 25 minutes which can be a bit exhausting but it is a beautiful walk. Afterwards you get some water and then you go back in the truck to go to their office where you can change into dry clothes and they will serve you a good lunch. I thought it was a great tour with professional trained guides and high quality gear.
