Britney Spears to Visit Costa Rica this Weekend with Mel Gibson.

Britney Spears, accompanied by her father Jamie Spears, left in a flight for Costa Rica at 9am this morning to visit the 400-acre property owned by Mel Gibson in Guanacaste. Gibson and Spears were spotted together in March at the Romanov Russian Restaurant and Lounge in Studio City California where they dined for over an hour.

Gibson, who will be hosting the Spears along with his wife Robin, is known for helping several other people with sobriety and drug related issues in the past. Despite being neighbors in Malibu several years ago, Mel did not became an important part of Britney’s life until after her hospitalization in February of this year.

Sources say that the motive of the trip is simple relaxation and that the Spears will return home early next week. Britney’s sons Jayden James and Sean Preston will not be joining them as the most recent terms of her custody agreement cite that the boys cannot leave the country without special approval.

The group will be staying at the $25 million Costa Rica ranch that Mel Gibson bought in 2007, which faces the Barrigona Beach in Guanacaste, a little ways north of Playa Samara.
