It is not unusual to hear of people who traveled to Costa Rica on vacation, and decided on the spot to rent or buy a property and to start a new life. Not everyone can make such a decision and actually do it. It is however very rewarding and if this is right for you, you will never regret it. Despite rumors, Costa Rica is still very safe, and living here is still relatively easy and stress free. What should really be the main cause for consideration when moving here is whether or not your influence on the country will be a positive one. The community of the canton of Cañas, in Guanacaste, Costa Rica, will be celebrating the one year anniversary of starting a reforestation and environmental education campaign in the region. On June 6, a ceremony will take place at the Antonio Obando High School to inaugurate the second stage of the campaign. Last year, amid growing concern over the effects of deforestation and the well being of the community, citizens of the canton came together to form the Adopt a Tree Foundation (FUNDARBOL).
