Nightlife in Tamarindo
Written by alanp
One of the best parts about traveling for young adults is discovering the nightlife in all the towns. Each town has its own flavor and attitude bringing a different vibe for the nightlife scene. Tamarindo is a surf town that has become a popular destination for Americans and most of the people that live there are in fact not Ticos, but people who have fallen in love with the Costa Rican life style and could not leave. Â
On Friday night the hotspot was the Monkey Bar. It was a little walk outside of town but was the popular spot to be. As you climbed the long staircase from the street level, the music was blaring and the vibe was casual and fun. They had a live band on one side of the bar and on the other there was a DJ. Literally everyone in town was there so there were plenty of people to meet and a great time to be had.Â
On Saturday night, the place to be was Babylon as there was a live reggae band playing, ladies night, and 2 for 1 pizza. There was a 1000 colones cover for the girls and the whole night they drank for free. The guys cover was 2000 with no drink deals. Once again the whole town was there dancing, drinking, playing pool, and having a great time.
