Living in Rohrmoser Costa Rica
If you plan to come live and work in Costa Rica’s capital, the suburb of Rohrmoser is a good place to settle down. It is a peaceful neighborhood with a tree-lined boulevard and many small parks and open spaces, about every 300 meters. There are many great places to shop including Plaza Mayor, which has three movie theaters, and Plaza Rohrmoser. Both have a variety of shops and restaurants and a food court.

Costa Rica Living — The Boulevard in Rohrmoser
Rohrmoser is located located in the western half of the capital. Within ten minutes is La Sabana, San Jose’s central park. This is an excellent place to jog, relax by the lake, play soccer, or take a ride on horseback. Rohrmoser is also home to many great restaurants including Ichiban (sushi), Sash (Lebanese) and El Padrino, which offers superb Italian cuisine. The United States Embassy is also located in the area.
The streets of Rohrmoser are generally quiet and and peaceful. However, if the party scene is something you are interested in, you won’t have to travel far. Along the main street in Pavas there are many great bars including Van Gogh, Tragaldabas and Kabanas. Paseo Colon, which is home to clubs and bars such as Vertigo, Lebnon and Rhapsodia, is only a short ride away.
The center of San Jose and entrance to Escazu are both only about a $4 taxi ride, and the national airport Tobias Bolaños is located nearby in Pavas, making travel from this area very convenient. Who wouldn’t want to live here? The President does!
