Visit to Capitan Suizo Hotel in Costa Rica
Last weekend I went to the Capitan Suizo hotel in Tamarindo. We went from San Jose over the friendship bridge to Tamarindo. The last time I went to Tamarindo the access road was very bad but this time they paved part of the road so the part that is bad is not that long anymore but the road in Tamarindo itself is still a dirt road with a lot of put holes. Capitan Suizo is situated right outside Tamarindo Downtown on the beach.
We arrived in the evening and as soon as we drove in to town the power went off so when we arrived at the Costa Rica hotel we were given candles to be able to see where we were going. We dropped our luggage in the rooms and went to the restaurant to eat something. dinner was good and I thought the prices on the menu were reasonable. As soon the lights went back on we were able to see our room which had two queen size beds. We were in a room with no air-conditioning but with two fans. The ceiling was very high so I didn’t feel warm at all. They do have air-conditioned rooms but the ceiling is very low and it is a darker room so I prefer the one without the air-conditioning. The room also had a balcony with garden view so you really felt you were in the middle of nature. The bungalows are nice which have a Jacuzzi.
I thought it was a nice hotel with ok rooms and a swimming pool but compared to the other hotels that are part of the small distinctive hotels of Costa Rica, it was kind of standard. In the Tamarindo area I personally like Cala Luna better.
