Flor Blanca Costa Rica Hotel
This past weekend I had to opportunity to go to Flor Blanca and check it out. This was my first visit to a hotel that surpasses the levels of a ten dollar hostel so needless to I was pretty excited.Â
The hotel itself was small and quant. The gravel paths between the villas and the restaurant bar area were lined with lush greenery and colorful flowers. The decor is somewhat Asian Zen mixed with rich, dark woods. The ambiance is very relaxing as easy listening music is quietly played in the background and yoga and Pilates classes are offered throughout the day.   This is a perfect place if you want to get away from a hectic schedule and just relax at the pool or the beach. The town it is in does not offer a whole lot but Mal Pais, about 15 or so minutes down the road has some tourist attractions.Â
The villas were beautiful; a mix of open air and air conditioning. The bedrooms were air conditioned while the main room and the bathrooms were open to the natural surroundings. The villa that I was in would be perfect for a family as it had a master bedroom with its own huge outdoor bathroom and an upstairs bedroom with three twin beds and its own cozy bathroom.Â
The food and service was not bad, but apparently not something to pride itself on. Although I did have interesting conversations with a couple of the staff members once the bar was closed. Overall this would be a great place for a quiet getaway.
