Costa Rica Tamarindo Diria Hotel
Not everyone loves Tamarindo but I went there four years ago and keep going back. Last weekend I stayed at Tamarindo Diria. I am actually having my wedding here in January so I went to plan the remainder of the details.
Tamarindo Diria is one of my favorite hotels. Of course not everything is perfect, like with everything there are positives and negatives. I love the style of the hotel and when you walk in you are instantly drawn to the hotels pool next to the reception desk. I think this is makes the place unique and I love this type of layout. Upon check in they give you a coupon for a free welcome cocktail by the bar which is a nice gesture. By the bar, there is also the indoor and outdoor restaurant. Everything is open and spacious, but there is easy access to all of the hotels facilities at the same time.
The location of the hotel is the best. I like being in the middle of the action, so I love how the Diria is in the center of town and less than a 5 minute walk to all restaurants and bars in the area. Not only that, but it is one of the very few Hotels in Costa Rica directly on the beach. The rooms that face the ocean have some of the nicest sunset views in Costa Rica. And the gardens at the resort in front of the beach are very well kept.
The rooms are colorful with corals and greens which is just fun when you are in a tropical destination. There were somethings wrong with our room that I believe should be easy fixes. The lock to the bathroom door was busted, and the patio door basically fell right off as I was trying to open it. Those little things are what make a big difference in the hotel from the 4 star it should be to a 3 star. But I did stay in the older standard room which could have been the reason for the needed repairs.
What I am most excited for is having my reception by the new pool across the street. Here they have a beautifully formed pool with gardens and small bridges, a wet bar, amphitheater and stage! The lighting here is perfect and some of the best lighting I have seen in Costa Rica at night. After staying at Diria this weekend, I am so happy for the choice I made to have my wedding there and I can’t wait until January.
