Ocotal Resort

If you are looking for a great resort featuring scuba diving or sport fishing, Ococal Resort is the perfect spot for your next vacation.  This 4-star Resort really has it all, I stayed in a Panoramic View room this past weekend, the room was nice, comfortable goods, adjustable AC, 32″ plasma screen tv, hot water from the showers, and a patio entrance.  The view was amazing, being ontop of the hill I felt like a king.

The resort has three pools, and two jacuzzis (cool water), a tennis court, two restraunts, a gym with personal trainer, a scuba diving center, a sport fishing program, and beach access.  The largest of the three pools is beachfront with a wet bar and poolside restuarant, the sunset infinite pool offers a cocktail service during one of the best sunsets in Costa Rica.

The Scuba Diving center offers a variety packages to it’s guests.  For the beginner certification classes are available (which takes four days), those with certifications already can go out to one of many locations which a guide in one of the resort diving boats.  For the advanced diver (with over 100 dives of experience) the resort offers dives with bull sharks and manta rays.  The Sportfishing center fleet of boats are 32 feeters with 12 ft beams and a comfortable clear fishing area, twin diesel power engines, shade top, flying bridge, outriggers and cabins with heads. They have approximately a 20 knot cruising speed.  The game usually sought out in the Ocotal area include sailfish, marlin, roosterfish, dorado, tuna and over 15 other varieties of fish can be captured any month of the year.

The Ocotal resort’s beach access leads you to a clean and near empty volcanic sand beach.  The water in beautiful and the water is gentle and home to many fishing and sailboats, a great place to relax in the sun, or play a game a soccer.

The resort’s restaurant chef is from Peru and offers a menu featuring international dishes.  The dinning room is open, most of the tables are located on the large porch which over looks the Pacific Ocean.

For nightlife, a cab can be taken from the checkin area to the local beach town, Playa del Coco, only minutes away.
