Three weeks ago I visited the Nativa Resort. This was my first visit to this resort. I have been to the Jaco area a couple of times. I always passed by the resort and I always wanted to check it out. Now I finally did!

The property is huge! It does not look that big when you enter the gate but it is! After being on the property for 5 minutes I understand why they didn’t invite people there before. There is still a lot of construction going on. They finished 4 apartment buildings and I stayed in one of them. The apartment was really nice. It looked even better than my own apartment in San Jose!

The managers were very nice and they told us about the property. Only problem was that their English wasn’t that good. My Spanish is ok but it would have been nice to get some answers in English.

We had a big barbecue the first night on the property. The food was great, prepared by the really funny chef, Jorge.

The next day we had a tour of the property. It was even bigger than I thought! They even have an artificial beach and helicopter pad. On the other hand they are still building houses, spa facilities and the main restaurant. I really did not like that there was no restaurant. I am a 6 foot 6 inch tall Dutch guy and I need to have breakfast! So I was really happy when we finally went to Jaco to have a brunch.

I can only imagine how the Nativa resort will look like when it is finished. I think it will be very nice, better than other Costa Rica Hotels that I’ve been to. I don’t know how the service will be there but I think it will be ok. The manager was really helpful so I think he will train his employees to be just like that.

I hope they will invite us again when all the buildings are there and the restaurant is operational!
