The Mountain Magic Hotel, in Arenal, Costa Rica, has only been open for business for 2 months.  From first glance the hotel looks as though it is part of a major hotel chain.  The lobby is nice and very grand.  Upon entering every part of the hotel the new aroma immediately hits you.  We stayed in just one of five rooms being occupied for the weekend  so the hotel was very quiet. 

 The rooms were nice, but nothing over the top.  Each room had two queen beds, a mini fridge, coffee maker, and a nice balcony facing the volcano.  All of the rooms have an excellent view of the volcano and two chairs to relax on outside.  The only down side to the room was that the AC did not work so it was often warmer in the room that sitting outside in the direct sunlight. 

 The pool has potential to be really cool.  It is fresh, relaxing, and very clean.  Since there were only about 10 people staying there, they did not have the waterfalls on, the jacuzzi warmed up, or the pool bar open, but we were told that once it got a bit busier these would change. 

The restaurant is nothing to write home about but once again we were told that it would change when it became busier.   They did have a sports bar above the restaurant that was pretty cool.  Decked out in American football memoriabilia and flat screen tvs, it was a great place to go for a relatively inexpensive drink or a game of pool.
