Manuel Antonio Hotel (great location, that’s it)
If you are headed to Manuel Antonio for the weekend and location is your top priority then you should consider the Manuel Antonio Hotel. You will not be living lavishly at this hotel, but you will staying closer to the Manuel Antonio National Park than anyone else.
The rooms are a good size and clean, all include a balcony or terrace. The air conditioning worked very well – it made coming back to the room a nice break from the beach. The rooms came with a TV but bring a good book because the TV only gets one station and I think it’s called the snow 24/7 channel. The lighting is very poor in most of the rooms, especially the bathroom. The showers were cold and the water pressure was weak, not good for washing the sand off my skin.
For food, I’m not exactly sure whether the restaurant adjacent to the hotel was in any way affiliated, but either way do not go there! The flys were so bad that I wasn’t able to take more than two sipps of my orange juice before choked on a bug. Besides the problem with the flys the panakes we ordered weren’t cooked all the way, the rest of the food wasn’t good by any means and the price was more than double the value. There are so many good restaurants in Manuel Antonio don’t waste your time with this one.
The people at the front desk were very nice, and they had a computer which you could pay for to use the internet ($2 an hr).
Rooms cost about $75 a night. For the location is was great, but there are many better Costa Rica hotels where you can stay for cheaper.
