Hotel Capitan Suizo: The Perfect Getaway

Costa Rica Hotel Review — Capitan Suizo
Hotel Capitan Suizo is a fantastic small hotel located directly on Playa Tamarindo. This weekend I had the opportunity to tour this exquisite property and found this to be the perfect place for those looking for a quiet, serene escape from the craziness of Tamarindo. The lush grounds are well-maintained and I found the beach to be exceptionally beautiful here. Another plus: the hotel is very environmentally conscious and recycles everything possible.
Hotel Capitan Suizo offers 22 rooms, 8 bungalows, and 1 four bedroom apartment. Unfortunately (or fortunately for the hotel), I was unable to tour a room as they were completely booked. However, we were able to view one of the bungalows and it was quite lovely. The bungalows are decorated simply and feature large bathrooms with indoor/outdoor showers. The bungalows also include an outdoor area with seating; perfect for enjoying the natural surroundings. The only drawback I saw with the bungalows was that they could have been a little more private. The manager also informed us that the hotel rooms located upstairs were not air-conditioned, but did have a fan. Tamarindo was pretty hot, so this might be an issue for some travelers. In terms of amenities, the hotel offers a full restaurant and bar, a beautiful pool, and direct access to the beach.
In conclusion, Hotel Capitan Suizo is a charming Costa Rica hotel in a naturally beautiful setting. The hotel is very quiet, so it’s probably not the place for a group of college students looking to party. However, this hotel is a great option for those looking for a quiet getaway in the Tamarindo area.
