Azania Bungalows in Costa Rica
This past weekend I spent the weekend in Playa Cocles, the beach town to the south of Puerto Viejo and stayed at Azania Bungalows. The Caribbean side of Costa Rica does not have much in terms of luxury lodging and Azania Bungalows is no different. The accommodations are quaint and clean, but nothing to write home about. I know, I know, I’m writing a blog about it, but that’s because I have to.
So as for the accommodations at Azania: the free form pool was nice and I particularly enjoyed the adjacent Jacuzzi. Each bungalow had one queen size bed and two double beds. They were covered by mosquito nets and if I could suggest anything if you’re planning on heading to the Caribbean side, use the mosquito nets. The restaurant was overpriced and the portions for breakfast were not sufficient for a growing young man like me. The staff was friendly throughout the stay until the checkout, when they showed how talented they were at making us feel unwelcome.
Of the other Costa Rica hotels that I have been to, this one did not make it to the top of my list.
