The Arenal Kioro Hotel in Costa Rica had a great view of the Arenal Volcano. The hotel rooms from the outside looked too much like a series of condos, but on the inside, the rooms were very nice. All the rooms do have a nice view of the volcano, especially if you are sitting in the Jacuzzi. The owner of the hotel once saw a lot of people standing there watching the lava coming down, and decided to build the hotel there, unfortunately for him, the lava stopped coming down on that side of the volcano, still, the view of the volcano is pretty good.

The restaurant was ok, nothing spectacular, and the food was good, but not great. The restaurant did have a great volcano view. The service at the restaurant was very good. Room service was expensive, and again, the food wasn’t great. Breakfast was better than lunch and dinner, it was buffet.

The pool area and garden could be better. The pool was small and it some how seemed out of place. The garden area doesn’t give the feeling of wanting to spend much time there, but at least there are plenty of tours in the area to take advantage of. The hotel has its own hot springs, which are not in the property, but they are only for the guests of the Kioro. The hotel offers shuttles to the hot springs every hour and close late. The hot springs are nice, but the Tabacon hot spring are nicer.
