Amazing view in Manuel Antonio

If you are headed to Manuel Antonio for a weekend, a week, or just passing through your trip would not be complete without this vital information.

This past weekend I headed to Manuel Antonio to escape the rain in San Jose. During my stay the sun was only blocked with clouds for a mere 20 minutes which produced a beautiful double rainbow.  The perfect weather is beside the point, as a Virginia Tech alumni I am dedicated to watch all Hokies games and list the reasons to opposing team fans why the Hokies are the best college team in the country.  The game started on Saturday at noon which meant 10 am for me.  I hopped in a cab and asked for a lift to the nearest sports bar, upon arrival I could tell by the looks of the empty bar that it was closed, and in fact it did not open until 4 pm during the green season.  Six attempts later I was told by an American bar tender ” you’re not in Kansas anymore” I replied “It’s Virginia” with a not so friendly tone.   By this point my cab driver Jose and I had become pretty good friends, he had one more place that might possibly have the game, a hotel named “La Mariposa”.  I knew this hotel had the reputation of being one of if not the nicest hotel in Manuel Antonio, this raised my hopes.  Jose said he would keep the car running while I went to check with the front desk for the game.  The front desk manager assured me that the bar had Direct TV, however he was not sure if that particular game was being broad-casted.  The bar had a brand new very large plasma screen tv, but after making the bartender scroll through the channels twice I realized that it was not in my destiny to see the game.  Walking away sad and defeated I glimpsed at the beautiful infinite pool with a large jacuzzi elevated above it,  I thought “wow this would be a great place to cool off and forget about not seeing the game.”  I then looked up and nearly froze, the view of Manuel Antonio National park was simply incredible.  I have traveled to many places but this view is up there as being one of the most impressive.  It is massive and panoramic, with bright blue waters, lush green rain-forests, islands protruding from the Ocean and accented by the white sand beaches, a more than worthy Kodak moment.  I must have admired the view for quite some time, as I headed back to the cab I saw Jose starting to pull away (I had not paid him yet).
