We fell in love with Costa Rica the very first time we visited. Since then, we have been there nine times and purchased property to build our retirement home on. Since we are not ready to retire, we vacation in Costa Rica 2-3 times each year, always traveling some where we have not been before.

Staring January, the Melia Cariari hotel will become part of the Hilton chain hotels. The hotel will be administrated by Hilton under the "Doubletree" name. Hilton is also opening other new hotels in Central America, including a new Airport hotel in Liberia.

This weekend we visited the new Arenas del Mar hotel in Manuel Antonio. First of all, not the easiest of Costa Rica hotels to find as there are no signs, however this typically is not a problem as it means that the general public will not turn up on your doorstep.
