New Biodiversity Park

Costa Rican Wildlife — Costa Rica Biodiversity Park
It was just announced, that the Caribbean city of Limon is going to be getting a new biodiversity park. This project includes restoring the present Cariari Park and adding so much more. The new park is to be model after InBioparque, which is located in Santo Domingo de Heredia, just north of San Jose. Both parks are run by the nonprofit National Biodiversity Institute (InBio). This is a $3.5 million project to be funded by the World Bank.
This is a great opportunity to improve the quality of life for the residents of Limon and to attract more visitors, so the story goes. Poison dart frogs, many species of birds, sloths, and coral reefs are going to be able to thrive within the 14 hectare park. It is going to be both a land and a sea experience for visitors. They are also planning on building picnic areas, an amphitheatre for concerts, trails, and classrooms for environmental education.
This is going to be a great addition to an already gorgeous coastline. It will only bring more pride and respect to the area. I for one can’t wait to visit this area and enjoy the new park.
