Impeached Governor Blagojevich May Trade Chilly Chicago for Costa Rica.

I’m a Celebrity, Get me Out of Here” is a new NBC reality show set to be filmed in Costa Rica starting June 1st. The premise, which was taken from a British show, is to set 10 minor celebrities in the middle of the Costa Rica jungle to face a series of challenges to gain food, supplies and luxury items. Each week, viewers will vote for one of them to go home.

The celebrity list has not been officially released yet, in part because of the pending acceptance of one contestant, impeached Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich, who is still waiting to hear from a U.S. court if he is allowed to leave the country despite the terms of his bond. The governor, who pleaded ‘not guilty’ to 16 counts of fraud and corruption after being accused of trying to sell President Obama’s senate seat, is still awaiting the results of the trial, which some fear could last up to 6 months. The currently unemployed Blago would receive $80,000 per week to be on the show.

The contestant that is left standing after four weeks will be named King or Queen of the Jungle and receive a cash prize to donate to the charity of their choice. Other D-List celebrities that are rumored to be participating include Nancy Kerrigan of the ice skating fame and Duane “Dog” Chapman of A&E’s reality show Dog the Bounty Hunter.

It is not yet known where the show will take place in Costa Rica, but the number of bugs and spiders may just out number the sleazy cast members that traveled to Costa Rica for the FOX reality show Temptation Island’s second season, which was filmed at Costa Rica’s Playa Tambor on the Peninsula de Nicoya.
