Questions Remain Regarding the Real Reason for the Concert’s Postponement.

The long awaited concert of the Christian Salsa singer Juan Luis Guerra was postponed last minute last night due to bad weather. Yesterday saw a light shower from the early morning until 6 p.m., however was it really enough to stop a concert from happening?

The production and management company hosting the Juan Luis Guerra concert made the decision to change the date until this evening, Monday, Dec. 1, due to the day’s drizzling rain, however some people were upset as the Costa Rica weather was not severe, with just light showers throughout the day.

One resident of Costa Rica stated that he had received numerous text messages yesterday from Credomatic, the sponsor of the concert stating a special discount of two tickets for the price of one. The concert had been discounted prior to the concert by Credomatic by up to 20% as ticket sales were slow and also as a benefit to Credomatic card holders.

However numerous people are now asking if the weather was the reason that the concert was moving or whether it gave the management company more time to sell more of the leftover tickets?

Juan Luis Guerra is one of the Dominican Republic’s most famous and decorated singers focusing his music talents on Christian salsa songs. He has sold over 14 million records world wide and writes all of his own music. He has won 10 Grammy Awards and 2 latin Billboard awards and in 2007 his song “la llave de mi corazon” (The Key to My Heart) was #1 in the Latin American Charts.

For the unlucky fans of Juan Luis that can not make it this evening but could have yesterday, salt was rubbed into the concert wound as they were told that their concert ticket money would not be refunded. Tickets were being sold for 40,000 colones (about $80) which is one of the most expensive concert tickets ever to be sold in Costa Rica.
