The Palmareña Civic Association just announced the final line-up of international artists that will be performing at the Palmares Civic Parties that begin Wednesday of next week. A massive concert by Puerto Rican urban music group Calle 13 will close the parties on Sunday, Jan. 25 at noon. The Residente and Visitante (group members’ nicknames) will also have a chance to warm up their vocal chords for a smaller crowd on Saturday, Jan. 24 at a smaller concert in the Barra Imperial megabar. Tickets for this event are expected to be around $15.

Also added to the list of highly anticipated performances will be Los Pericos, a rock, ska and reggae group that will perform Friday, Jan. 16 in the Marlboro megabar. Saturday, Jan. 17 will see DJ duo Deep Dish put on a live performance on the same stage. Argentinian group Miranda! Will also grace the Marlboro stage on their return trip to Palmares the evening of Friday, Jan. 23.

These latest announcements complete the list of performers, which also includes Mexican group Kinky, set for a Thursday, Jan. 15 performance in the Marlboro bar as well as DJ Roger Sanchez who will perform at the same bar on Jan. 22.

As previously announced on Costa Rica Pages, Mexican ranchero artist Ana Barbara will headline the Festival Ranchero Saturday, Jan. 17 in the bull ring for prices ranging from $22 to $60. Finally, another highly anticipated performance by the Kumbia Kings and their ex-lead vocalist Pee Wee will take place Sunday, Jan. 18 at noon.

The 12-day event is one of the biggest collective parties on the annual Costa Rican calendar and promises to be an entertaining event for all ages. Will so many days to choose from, there’s no excuse not to come during your Costa Rica Travels. Just remember to drive safely or catch a ride!
