It is a shame when a country so heavily dependent on tourism can not be traveled by its own citizens because prices are so high.  Recently the Insituto Constarriceerise de Turismo (The Costa Rican Toursim Board), has launched a new program to help Costa Ricans discover their own country.  Several hotels and tourism operators joined the campaign by offering Ticos reduced prices and rates. 

The program offered to the citizens is only available in the low season, until the first week of November.  The first step is to promote destinations that offer reduced prices by hotels and tour operators.  If you are interested in checking out these discounts and deals, check out www.visitcostarica.com.

This program is great for the country as it gets the citizens excited about what this country has to offer its visitors.  It is being geared towards middle class Ticos and has deals all over the country.
