Modernizing Taxes in Costa Rica
BearingPoint, Inc. is one of the world´s largest providers of technology and management consulting services and has been asked to modernize the tax system here in Costa Rica.
The United States based company has been given a $20 million 2 year contract to install SAP software and customize it to fit the needs of Costa Rica. Working with the Ministerio de HAvienda and Tributacion, Costa Rica´s own tax collecting agency, they will try to improve revenue flow through more efficient collection of taxes, allow Tico´s to view their tax records electronically, and help reduce the amount of tax fraud.
Next month around a dozen workers will Travel to Costa Rica to implement the new system. Although they will not be directly installing the software they will be here to see that it works properly.
