Gibson, who already owns 163 hectares of land in Guanacaste, said he already sees a lot of potential in the country and wanted to discuss the facilities that are available to facilitate a movie production industry. He added that his interest in the country is due to its natural beauty, the people, stable government and good coffee.

In past meetings with President Oscar Arias, the last of which took place in October of this year, Gibson expressed an interest in helping the indigenous populations of Costa Rica.
