Jaco Beach Gets a Facelift
If you have traveled to Jaco in the past year, there is no way that you could have missed all of the construction in the area. Jaco has become a booming destination for visitors and Costa Rican travelers. It is a surf town with a lot of attitude. With all of the growth comes a lot of debris. The beach has been littered with construction supplies, debris from the ocean, and trash left behind from the hundreds of visitors. That is all about to change. Recently the city was given ¨The Beach King,¨ a zambonie like cleaning machine for the beach. In addition there is a smaller cleaning machine to get closer to trees and they have hired four people to pick up the larger items that both machines will not be able to catch.Â
The $82,000 tractor pulls a machine behind it that picks up the garbage on the beach and the smaller one will be able to go around trees and benches to pick up the hard to reach items. The larger machine was donated by DayStar Properties, with is developing condominiums near by. The ¨Beach King¨ is the only one of its kind in Central America and is ready to groom and manicure the beach in Jaco.Â
