Hilton to open hotel in Guanacaste, Costa Rica
Hilton hotels will open a 169-room hotel in Guanacaste starting October, 2008. Yesterday, Hilton’s web page announced that they signed an agreement with H.A.L. (Hoteles Aeropuerto) so that the Garden Inn franchise can start operations in Central America. H.A.L is a partner of the Enjoy Group, which is a Costa Rican enterprise.
The new hotel is an approximately $19 million project. The President of the Enjoy Group Corporation, Mr. Ruben Pacheco, said that the hotel name will be “Hilton Garden Inn Liberia Airport” and will be located very close to the Liberia International Airport. “60% of the tourists visiting Costa Rica are from the USA and from Europe” Pacheco said “and I know that the Hilton name will sound very attractive to visitors as it’s one of the largest hotel chains in the world.”
Enjoy Group currently handles the Fiesta Premiere and the Fiesta Puntarenas hotels, and both of them will change names to Hilton and Doubletree in December this year.
