So very sad that the meek, (The Homosexual Population), and loving gay children of GOD is being tormented again. Poor Costa Rica, This is going to mess up your Travel Industry knowing now that the gay global hawk eye is watch your decision internationally. Will religion destroy the Costa Rica Economy over gay union. No Gay Couple wants to visit a country that is sexually immature and prejudice towards life style, and perhaps even those of race as well. This is so said. I was planning on visiting this country, (Costa Rica), with my wife and children and even buying land there to live when i retire. I do not ever wish to visit a country that even slightly supports hate-crimes buy not protecting their citizens.

You know, as a gay man who's lived for significant amounts of time in CR for nearly ten years, in a very public relationship with a Costa Rican man who's a member of a fairly prominent family in Puerto Viejo, I have a really hard time with some of the vitriol being spewed over the civil union issue.

Ironically, most of my discomfort comes from what I hear from the proponents of civil unions.

I think it is a very big mistake to blanketly label, as many gay marriage advocates here in the States do, anyone who questions them as homophobes, haters, and bigots.

Now, to be sure, some opponents of gay marriage are motivated by all those vile things but I firmly believe more people are motivated by a genuine questioning of whether it is wise to so fundamentally redefine an institution like marraige.

Now, I think that redefinition will eventually occur but it is going to be a process, not an event.

But, in the mean time, the name calling that people on both sides of this issue tend to engage in needs to stop.

It serves the interests of absolutely no one.
